Where should I buy an iPad?
I'd like to get an iPad and wondered if there's a difference between buying directly from Apple vs. Best Buy or Verizon. Please guide me in the right direction and let me know if there is a difference in pricing, options, etc.... TIA!

I always buy my apple products directly from apple it is sometimes a little more of a wait but I find it to be well worth it. I believe best buy has its own warranties and what not and if something breaks you need to go back to best buy (?), but I am not positive. My father in law and I bought macs right around the same time last year. I bought mine from apple and he bought his from Best buy. At different times we both had a disc get jammed in our computer - I had mine back the same day bringing it to apple, best buy had his for 2 week. Mine was free, his cost him about $50.
Same with the Iphones he got his through verizon cracked his screen - its still cracked. I dropped mine (purchased in apple) and apple gave me a new one.
Might just be a random situations but find its always better to buy right from the source.

ETA: There shouldn't be a price difference between the stores

def In my exp..it is best to go with apple...esp on the big products..and I rec always getting the apple care...I have gotten my laptop fixed in the last 3 years a number of times...where I have gotten my money's worth and then some on the apple care cost!

Thanks! I was leaning towards buying directly from Apple, but wasn't sure if it made a difference buying elsewhere.

My DH bought an iPad 2 on Monday from Apple on line and received it on Wednesday. I would buy directly from them.

I would buy from apple. They are a big help with the product and more knowledgeable. You wont get a better deal elsewhere. They are the same price.
