Nutritionist or Dietician Recommendation?
I am 23wks and was borderline for the 1-hr glucose and my ob/gyn thinks I will likely have GD after taking the 3hr? Can anyone recommend someone within 20 mins of Huntington? Thanks

Re: Nutritionist or Dietician Recommendation?
I'm right there with you. MD is having me wait till 27 weeks to do one hour glucose test. So far it hasn't been good. More then likely I will have GD too . I was wondering about nutritionist as well. Does anyone know if they are at all covered by insurance?

Re: Nutritionist or Dietician Recommendation?
Yes, I find that most do take insurance...it's often over $150 if they don't. My ob said to try to decrease carbs for now, before I take the 3hr test on Dec 3....but I'm finding that I'm trying to eliminate most, not just some, and I think I might be going to extreme. I live in Huntington so I was thinking I might call Huntington Hospital, even though I deliver at Winthrop. I also called my insurance and asked them for names, so hopefully I can call today.

My doctor told me also to watch what I eat for now. My sister had GD with all three of her kids, so I called her up for advice on what to eat and not to eat. Good to know alot take insurance.
