Peanuts?
Hi girls... I'm not even currently prego (at least not that I'm aware of yet) - but I just read for the 2nd time how Princess Catherine shyed away from peanuts as pregnant women are not supposed to eat them....how come? I def ate peanuts, peanut butter with my 1st pregnancy and I have a healthy DD.
Just curious what's up with the peanut comment - knew you girls would know!

Re: Peanuts?
never heard of that before. all I can think of is maybe bc of potential allergies?
ETA: baby definitely decides what you will or will not eat during pregnancy. I have really cut down on my meat consumption since I got pregnant. For some reason, I cannot bring myself to eat more than an ounce or two during dinner.

Re: Peanuts?
Never heard of that one. I have been eating more PB since pregnant, since I've cut out my turkey sandwiches and tuna sandwiches.

Re: Peanuts?
I really hope this isn't true, I have eaten 2-3 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches a week since I've been pregnant.

Re: Peanuts?
I ate peanuts and peanut butter when pregnant with DS and had no issues. I remember hearing towards the end of my pregnancy that eating peanut products increases the risk of peanut allergies but, it doesn't seem to be the case.

That's so funny--I am normally not that big of a meat eater but all my little boy wants is lots of meat and cheese. Cheeseburgers, meatballs, steaks..etc

Re: Peanuts?
If there's a family history of nut allergies, I'd probably avoid peanut products in the 3rd trimester and if you BF. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Peanuts?
I think people shy away due to possible allergies. I nor anyone in my family is allergic. I have eaten a couple of PB&J sandwiches during my pregnancy and tons of snickers bars which have peanuts

Re: Peanuts?
I heard that this MAY be a possibility so if you or anyone in your family has a peanut allergy to stay away just in case but if not, then go ahead and eat. I ate peanuts, not regularly, with DS#1 and he isn't allergic to peanuts but he is allergic to cashews and pistachios and I didn't eat any of those, go figure.

Re: Peanuts?
I craved (and indulged in ) PB&J almost everyday during my 1st trimester with my first pregnancy. Dr had no issues with it. Neither did I. Although my DD LOVES pb&j which could be a result of that
