Becoming legal guardians.... if something where to happen
So while my DH family where here I was told that if anything ever happened to the parents & her parents where not able to take care of the kids we would be next inline to have them. I talked to DH last night about it coz I'm a little freaked out about the whole thing. DH says I'm over reacting that nothing is going to happen & the chances are nothing will ever happen but you do hear these stories where is does happen. We would def take them as there wouldnt be anyone else. How would you feel about this?

I've told my brother I would take his 3 kids in a heartbeat if anything ever happened to him & his DW...but they already have someone else lined up..it's really something that should be discussed with all involved before it gets decided legally. Even though I don't want kids I'd take my niece & nephews and change my life..but they are the only ones I'd do this for!

I would absolutely do it, but I don't think anyone would ever consider us as potential guardians since we do not have children of our own.

We would care for any of our Godchildren or nieces without a doubt.
We don't plan on having children but I would have no problem taking in any children whose parents thought we would be a good choice.

Nobody in our family close to us has kids, so it's not a possibility at the moment. Not sure how I'd feel about it though.

I would take my niece and nephew in a heartbeat if anything ever happened to my sister and her DH. However they don't have a will and my sisters MIL already said there would be a fight for the kids 
I bug my sister all the time to please make a will.

I have had this conversation with my sister about my 2 nieces. DH and I don't have children yet (we are trying). Whether we end up having children or not, I would without a single doubt care for my nieces. I am so close to them and already love them like my own. I would go to the moon and back for them!

Nobody that close to us has children right now. But if my brother or either of my DH's siblings had children and needed us to raise their children because something happened to them, I would do it without question and would be honored. Anyone else I would have to really think about it.
