what to read for a middle school book club?
I'm trying to think of more books to read for my middle school book club-6th and 7th graders.
So far we read:
Eragon
The Dangerous Days of Daniel X
Other ideas?
They've all read Harry Potter, and they're scared of Hunger Games
Percy Jackson was their summer reading
Thoughts?

Yep! It was just as good as I am Number 4... idk when the other ones are coming out tho.

I've also heard good things about The Red Pyramid which is a new series by Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson Author).
ETA: Also, the Golden Compass Trilogy or the Uglies Series.

golden compass might not work bc of all the christian stuff..i teach at a jewish school lol

Definitely no Golden Compass then. 
I hadn't read Red Pyramid yet. My co-worker said it was good though. Bleh.

The Kane Chronicles (Red Pyramid, Throne of Fire) aren't as good as the Percy Jackson series, but I do think that since they've already read Percy, it might make for an interesting discussion of the similarities and differences between Greek & Egyptian mythology.
ETA: I always have preferred Greek mythology so that might be part of the reason why I didn't get as into the Kane Chronicles.

Someone just posted this series on the HG thread- The Underland Series by Suzanne Collins. I know you said no HG, but this looks a little more youthful and there's five books in the series already.
