How are you doing this holiday season?
Just checkin in to see how you are surviving the most difficult healthy season of the year! What are your strategies for getting through and enjoying it? Any healthy recipe ideas...especially desserts?!

Re: How are you doing this holiday season?
I'm doing good so far, but it's still early! I weighed myself today and I weighed exactly to the ounce what i weighed the day before Thanksgiving. I don't have any strategies except my normal of eating whatever I want in moderation and working out almost every day.

A few years ago, a poster wrote: "It doesn't matter what you eat between Christmas and New Year's, it matters what you eat between New Year's and Christmas." I really believe it is true. Usually, we do not have too many holiday parties so I figure 2-3 days of bad eating days are not going to ruin my everyday life.

Re: How are you doing this holiday season?
I had to cut down my exercise drastically and put on some weight (as per doctor's orders). So right now I'm trying really hard NOT to gain anymore weight than I already did!!
I've been very good so far. I'm going to give myself "off" on Christmas Eve and Day and just enjoy the holiday (and the food!)

Re: How are you doing this holiday season?
I have been doing pretty bad the past couple of weeks. I will have a couple of good days and then we'll have a party, or something else and I'll fall off the wagon.
I can't wait until the holidays are over and I can get back on track.

Re: How are you doing this holiday season?
I've lost weight since Thanksgiving, so I'm happy. But my eating habits and exercise have not been great. Next week, I am going to the gym M-F and will try to eat better.

I havent gained anything. I didn't even gain a pound on thanksgiving either. I've been maintaining my current weight, thank god. I don't want to lose anymore.

Re: How are you doing this holiday season?
I've lost a pound. I haven't deprived myself of trying food that I want to try. First I make sure that I fill up on all good and healthy food at any dinner/parties/holiday gatherings and then allow myself to taste and enjoy small portions of heavier types of food that I normally don't indulge in regularly. I have logged in a few extra miles in addition to my regular routine. I am really proud of myself especially since I don't feel deprived at all. It is all about moderation.
