At what age did you stop allowing DC to see you naked?

I had dd in her rock and play in the bathroom while i was taking a shower. She is only 5mo but she laughed at me as i got out leading me to wonder if she knows what naked is

When does it become innapropriate for her to see me in the nude? DH will not be nude in front of her. Is it different for girls vs boys?

I have 2 girls & they are 2.5 and 5 years old. I don't hide myself from them. They asked me some questions a while ago about my body; I answered them and since it's no big deal to them. (My favorite question---> Mommy, why are your boobies so long? I laughed about that one for a long while).

I have a 3 and 6 year old. They still see me naked. They are just generally always in my space. DH is more discreet around DD but that was just his preference. Naked it just naked to me, until you or your child is uncomfortable I guess I don't see the big deal.

If I had a daughter, I wouldn't care if she saw me naked so much.

With my DS, I would say around 3, I tried to cover up more so he didn't see much, but he thinks the whole house is his domain, so I can't avoid it sometimes.

I think its whenever you feel comfortable!

DD never sees me naked, not something I do on purpose. . .I had to think about it LOL but I get changed in the bathroom (always have) and when I change for bed she is already asleep!

But I know many families will let their older children see them naked, so it is whatever you feel comfortable with!

just this morning DS (26 months) came into my room while i was getting dressed...turned to me and said..."mommy naked??" i guess its time.

I think its very healthy for your kids to see you and your partner in various states of undress throughout their lives, obviously there will be a point when they might find it uncomfortable, but for me, I will probably let them dictate that. Don't get me wrong, we don't walk around the house balls out naked all day everyday, but I really really want my kids to have a good body image and I want them to be aware that not everyone looks like people in magazines and on television.

DD is almost 2 and a half and still sees me naked. She showers with me on average twice a week, or DH will take a bath with her (he wears boxers). DH is more careful but if she walks in on him changing he doesn't run and hide.

The worst was when she pointed to DH's manhood and said, "that's your butt?" DH said, "Uhhh, yeah." She replied, "I kiss it?"

He freaked.

I dunno how I feel about this yet. It's something I've been thinking alot about lately bc I'm notorious for running around topless & that hasn't changed since the baby. in fact I think it's MORE often now since I got so comfortable when I was bfing in the beginning.

On one hand, I want my son to know that there is nothing shameful or "Dirty" about the human body. Growing up, I learned that the reason we wear clothes is because eve bit the apple and blah blah blah. I never liked that explanation bc it led me to believe that gods original plan for us was NOT to be covered or "hiding" our bodies. and thats something I feel strongly about.

On the other hand...we don't live on a nudist colony and it's not found acceptable to just walk around naked in our society and I want my kid to be well balanced and normal. I don't want my son undressing in public bc "mommy said it ok" either.

I'm still trying to figure out how to find a healthy balance between the two in order to properly verbalize it to my son when the time comes.

Now that i think about it i remember my mom being comfortable undressing in front of me until i became uncomfortable and told her to stop.i was probably around 8ish.

I still take showers with my daughter on weekends. She is 4.5. I mean, we are both girls and I do get Brazilians regularly enough for her not to see any major differences in the appearance of our girly bits. She loves it that she gets to be an adult with mommy and we both wash our hair together without her throwing a fit! So, definitely time well spent!

I stopped letting my son see me naked when he was probably around 2.5 or so. When you could just tell by his facial expresssion that he knew exactly what he was looking at!

I read somewhere that for opposite sex children you should probably start covering up around 4. However, I feel like it really depends on the child. My son is about to turn 4 and still sees me naked from time to time. He isn't bothered by it and doesn't really notice it so I don't think it's a problem. I'll probably stop soon though. I don't want him to have long term memories of me naked.

I will never cover up from my girls. I had such issues about anyone seeing me naked that I would not allow anyone to help me into my wedding dress, and stuff like that. I never want my kids to feel that way around me.

My son is 4.5 and I've stopped getting dressed in front of him bc its getting weird. I'll catch him looking at me out of the corner of his eyes, like he knows hes not supposed to. So I felt it was time to stop with him.

I have 2 girls so I don't think they'll ever be a point where I feel the need to hide my body from them. My 5yr old loves to take a shower with me, she sees it as such a grown up thing to do and now my almost 2yr old has caught on to all the "fun" to be had, makes for a very crowded shower
