I am assuming you want to have the levels tested, correct ? If so, there are a few honest companies out there that can do the testing. From what I have witnessed, they use an air pump with a cartridge attached to it, then it is sent to a lab for analysis

By the way, I do not believe that the EPA has any acutal PEL's (permissible exposure limits) for mold yet.

How do you know you have mold ?

I can recommend a company for you. They are called PCI Restoration
and are out of Ronkonkoma. They have done several jobs for my mom, one of them being the detection and removal of water damage and mold from her home.

They do everything from detection to removal, and work with several companies to get everything finished down to resheetrocking/painting.

They have been so good with my Mom. My dad passed away while she was in the middle of having this big mold job done and they have really worked with her on trying to wrap everything up with the very limited money she has available without my Dad's income.

I'm not sure I have it, but I think I might.

We were organizing DD's room yesterday to make room for her new toys. In her closet, I have a small wooden organizer. Like one of those rectangle things with 3 shelves that you get at Lowes. When we picked it up , it had water damage all along the bottom. So somehow water is getting into the closet and we have no idea how long this has been going on or what the damage is going to be when DH has to repair it.

I looked on the NYS Dept of Health website and they really dont recommend calling anyone to come in and evaluate it. bc no one really knows that the safe levels are. They just recommend fixing the problem and cleaning the mold. But as of right now, I dont see any mold. Her closet is carpeted. God only knows what its going to look like when Dh investigates it.

We used Paul Gressin . He was really nice, very informative, and came highly recommended to us. I'd use him again if I needed to.
