Pregnant after miscarriage
For those who've gotten BFPs after a miscarriage: did you change your mind on who you told right away?
We definitely don't want to tell as many people as we did last time (although I dont regret telling them, they were all such a great support). But I want to tell my parents now that I just got my BFP again and DH doesnt. I totally understand his reasoning- my parents can be a little smothering, asking a zillion questions, calling all the time. My parents would be the only people we actually tell in the 1st tri. His parents are in another country and can't really do much from there.
During the mc, my parents were a huge support system to us and if, god forbid it happens again, I think we'd tell them. On the other hand, I dont want to tell them because I feel liek their first thought will be the same exact thought I'm having, "what if she has another mc?" I dont want to disappoint them again. Thoughts?

Re: Pregnant after miscarriage
Congrats!!! For me, I didn't tell my immediate family until my 1st sonogram (at 8 weeks), just because I didn't want to see them go through the heartbreak they did when I miscarried. Everyone else, we told when I was a little over 3 months.

Re: Pregnant after miscarriage
First of all, you know how happy I am for you but here are some well deserved extra for getting pregnant again!!
Honestly, I think you just have to figure out what you're comfortable with. For me, I told people who I won't mind sharing news about a loss with if it were to happen. I think it also depends on how open you are in general about this stuff. So many people know about our infertility issues and our path that sharing the news of a pregnancy isn't like some big surprise. For people who don't know earlier on, I am holding out till at least 18-20wks.
Also, our parents knew right away when I got pregnant again.

Re: Pregnant after miscarriage
Each time I've gotten pg I told my immediate family and best friends. They have all been there for us during all of my losses and I know I need them there for me during the first weeks before anyone else knows. I would go crazy without someone to call with my worries! This time around has been no different (recently got a bfp again!).
Congrats to you on your bfp! Hope this is it for you!

Re: Pregnant after miscarriage
I actually only told my sister and parents. I wanted to tell everyone else after my first sono. Unfortunately it ended in a miscarriage again so I had to tell everyone the news after I left the ER with the news of a confirmed miscarriage.

Re: Pregnant after miscarriage
after my 1st loss I decided to wait to tell anyone except my parents, then I had a 2nd loss and wished that everyone knew so that I could talk it out like I did with the 1st. When I got pregnant the 3rd time I just told everyone right away. It's really a personal choice. My family is my support so I wanted them to know.

Re: Pregnant after miscarriage
Hi - I'm 5 weeks now - had a m/c in Sept. I told our families last time right away. This time no one knows so far except DH and I. I just know my mom will ask me non-stop if I'm ok and honestly I'm nervous enough as it is until I see my OB...I don't need people asking how I'm doing. So for me I'm waiting until after my 1st appt...will tell our parents after that and rest of family when I'm closer to 12 weeks. Will wait until 2nd tri to tell friends or anyone else. I just need to know this baby is ok before I start telling people. But everyone is different - that's what works for me. If you feel you want to share - go for it! Congrats and good luck!

Re: Pregnant after miscarriage
Congrats!!! our first pregnancy we told both of our parents my best friends and he told everyone he knew ..... When we got pregnant the second time we each only told one friend each we knew our parents would worry about me and we wanted to wait till we got out of the first trimester. Well we didn't make it that far and we told our parents AFTER the second D&C If/ when we get pregnant a third time we will figure out who to tell

Re: Pregnant after miscarriage
I dunno I say I dont want to tell people but at the same time it will be hard not too. Since everyone knows I have been trying for a year and is prob waiting for an annoucement. LOL so I dunno I may wait till 8 weeks and then tell a few peeps.
