those who have had mammograms

especially if you have large breasts, do they hurt?

found a lump the other night, and have discharge in both nipples (though, that's probably related to nursing, even though I stopped over a year ago). Dr is sending me for an ultrasound and mammogram. Have had ultrasounds of my breast before, but never a mammo.

mammos pinch a bit, but don't really hurt in the sense that you feel a lasting effect.
I'm a DD if that helps, and have had a number of mammos because of my age.
They do 4 shots, 2 of each breast.
One flat top to bottom, the next at an angle picking up some tissue under your arm to get at the lymph nodes.
You're done in like 5 minutes.

Thanks, ladies! Just had it done. Was just really uncomfortable for a short period, but you were right, not painful. A few positions were a little worse than others.

I had a mammo the other day.....I am probably like a C.....no pain at all....the position they put you in is more uncomfortable than the actual squish......
