Spinoff to potty training

When was DC with PDD-NOS potty trained? My DS is 3, and I was debating trying over February break, since I don't really need to go out since it will be so cold, or should I wait until spring break at the beginning of April? He will sit on the potty if I put him there, and he is verbal. Right now, if I ask him if he wants to go on the potty, he of course tells me no.

My DS was at almost 4 years. He was using the potty off and on since he was 2, but not really potty trained until 4. Poop took a long time for him.

He is very verbal, but I just don't think he got it or saw the need for it until then.

DS has been using the potty off and on since just before 2. He is 27 months and has been asking to go on the potty throughout the day and going No. 1 (but inconsistently as he still pees in his diaper). I decided to do 3 day potty training with him this past weekend and it was a disaster. He refused to go even though I kept reminding him. It got to the point that he was holding it for up to an hour and then I would take him into the bathroom...he would tantrum and say "NO" and then three seconds later pee on the floor. After getting peed on three times, going through nearly 17 pairs of underwear, and having pee puddles all over my carpet, I put him back in diapers. Since then he has gone back to periodically telling me he has to go (but not everytime). I guess I will try to revisit it this weekend. DS is PDD-NOS and basically nonverbal -he has some words and signs but does not have two word combinations. He, however, says POTTY perfectly--this SHOULD be a breeze

DD trained when she was 4 for going #1. #2 took until she was 4.5 years.
