Ok moms, care to share your potty training tricks?

I finally went out and bought Ava a potty tonight. I was going back and forth on whether or not I should, but before bedtime tonight, she walked over to the drawer where I keep the diapers, brought me a diaper and said, "Peepee, mama." Sure enough, she had gone. So, I went and bought a potty.
So, anyone care to share their advice on this?

we had a potty chart in the bathroom
everytime DD went peepee she got to pick a sticker and put it on the chart and everytime she did a poopy on the potty she got to pick 2 stickers to put on the chart
(we had every type of stickers you can imagine Dora,princess,pooh,blues clues etc)
when she filled up the chart with stickers she was trained and she got to pick a toy from the store

I skipped the little potty all together, after I bought one and it was never used and the one time it was, I hated cleaning it I bought the ring to go on the real toilet and that made him feel all big and he asked to go on it.

Well I haven't done it as a mom, but as a nanny I successfully potty trained 3 children. However, there are a lot of things I seemed to be more succesfull as a nanny than as a mom, lol. What I found to work was 2 things, the reward chart and allowing them to wear underwear once they got pretty comfortable using the potty. Some people may think it is wrong but it really helped them recognize if they had an accident. It also helped that the house had wood floors

When I felt DD was truly ready I bribed her w/ candy. We started Friday night and by Sunday she was trained.
