? for those who have been to sesame place?
my husbands coworker says it is not going to be age appropriate for our son who will be 16 months old... he thinks we shouldn't go as planned in August... what do those who have gone think of an 16 month old going to sesame?

Re: ? for those who have been to sesame place?
it's fun for the parents and such....but that being said,
I'm in the camp where I feel ANY trip (sesame, great wolf, Disney, etc) isn't truly WORTH it unless your kid is at an age where he or she can remember it.
Can it hurt to go? No. Is it a must? probably not.
But of course, it's still fun for you guys and it's something different to do, KWIM? and you are still making a memory, even if your little one won't remember it.
I did take our son to Disney when he was around 18 months and it was fun, but he sure doesn't remember a thing.

I took my then 21 month old in July and she loved it . There is a baby section plus you can stay on the lazy river. I would def get a cabana- best money ever spent- nap, change, etc.

I have been traveling with my DS since he is four months old- Will he remember? Nope! But these experiences include many teachable moments and family memories made. Worth it? Absolutely.

Re: ? for those who have been to sesame place?
We took Ds at 16 months in June and he had a blast. There were plenty of things for him to go on and he loved sitting in the kiddie pools. We spent two 6 hour days there. We also did a side trip to the children's museum in Philly and he had an equally awesome time there too. He was walking at 11 months and running/totally stable at 16- that's important I think.
As for trips not being worth it until they "remember" I disagree. The experiences build character, build desire to discover, etc. whether or not they actually "remember" the trip- plus their little hearts are so filled with joy from a trip like that.

Ita I mean, you would have to wait for a chile to be much older to guarantee they will remember it. Such a silly thought process IMO
We brought my 16 month old to Disney and he had the time of his little life!

I agree.. And DS was 4.5 months on his first trip to Disney. He has been to NH 4 times for family vacations. I love this age.... Go for it.. There really is nothing to lose... Have fun!!

Re: ? for those who have been to sesame place?
DS was about that age when we went and I have to be honest, while he had fun, he wasn't able to partake in some of the activities and rides because of his height or because there were too many older kids around who make it dangerous for him...
At that age, I think DS would have the same amount of fun if we took him to a playground or some indoor play area. And we would have save ourselves the long drive!

I think it's worth it. There are shows and some rides good for that age.

Re: ? for those who have been to sesame place?
We took our DD at 22 months old I *personally* didn't find that there was much to do for two reasons:
1) She was too small for the water rides and the park is 90% water rides
2) The park is EXTREMELY tiny and there is hardly anything to do anyway
I know some people love Sesame but I would never go back. It was small, dingy, overcrowded, and just plain boring. The water areas were skanky, the food was god awful, and everything just seemed old and outdated. I thought the park $ucked, I think there are a lot of other nicer places to vacation. (Dutch Wonderland, Hershey, etc)
Edit - If you do go, you HAVE to make the trip into Philly to the Children's Museum. It's AMAZING!!!! My DD LOOOOOVED it!!! It was the highlight of the trip, I would go back just for that alone. GREAT place!

DS had fun when we took him there at 21 months. However, he truly enjoyed it when we took him the following summer.

Re: ? for those who have been to sesame place?
I took DD when she was around 20 months and thought she would love it because she loves Sesame Street.
It totally freaked her out though! She hated the characters (cried hysterically) and only liked the wave pool. In retrospect it was not worth the drive and money.
Just wanted to give you my experience.

I agree about the park, and it's a rip off for what you get. With that said, my child had fun for what it is. There are better places to go though. Like you said, Dutch Wonderland and Hershey far exceed the fun factor at Sesame.

Re: ? for those who have been to sesame place?
We took my DD when she was 15 months old, and she had an amazing time. She loved meeting all the characters, and she had so much fun dancing during the parades. She was too young for the water rides, although she loved playing in the splash parks and riding the lazy river. She played in the kiddie areas, and went on a bunch of rides with my DH. I'd say it was well worth it to take her at that age.

Re: ? for those who have been to sesame place?
DS LOVES going to the local carnivals. Goes on the rides by himself and has a great time.
When we went to Sesame, he wanted to play in the sand box. I had to practally threaten to leave if he didn't play on the other stuff. He was 3 1/2.
The shows were fun and he had a great time at the parade.

Re: ? for those who have been to sesame place?
my daughter was 19 months when we went the first time there is alot to do there even that little she had so much fun they allow you to take them on most of the rides as long as you go on with them but there are alot of things in the back of the park that is sutiable for the younger ones (if you go in July they usually do buy 1 get 1 day free)
