So what's the point of 'poking' on FB?
I honestly love FB for allowing me to keep in touch with so many people/ share photos!
However sometimes it annoys the cr@p out of me What the heck is the point of 'poking' Some girl I barely knew sent a friend request which I ignored since I tend to have only close(r) friends....now she is poking....
So FB is just jr high all over again?

Yes. There really is no point. I guess to get your attention? Someone poked me once so I poked back and they wouldn't stop. Finally I had to message them and say "FINE! You win, leave me alone!"

I don't know, but some guy I don't know and never met (friend of a friend on FB) recently "poked" me and i found that very strange

My cousins 'poke' me sometimes. I poke them back. I kind of use it as a "Hey I know you exist.. I just don't have anything to say to you at the moment!" tool.

I just found that funny. Once my sister went into my fb and started pocking everyone.... Since then, I know the pocking thing is not serious

One of my old co-workers likes to poke people, literally, Now that was are across the country we do it virtually 
I always thought it was a "hey, update your facebook" type thing

SO and i would poke each other when we were long distance. we thought it was "cute"
since then, i only get poked by his 11-year-old son. we poke each other about once a month... we use it as a "hi there"
