any suggestions?
Hi Girls,
I am not new to this site-- but I have yet to post on this chat board-- I have an 11-month old and he has a cold-- his coughing is terrible and he is coughing so hard that the he throwing everything up-- He has had colds before but I feel that this is rediculous that it is causing food to come up-- taking him to doc toady- but I know they won;t give him any cough suppressant (although, when I was a baby it was fine!!!) him not keeping food down will lead to other problems--- any suggestions? This is my first baby... still learning.... Thanks --Kim

Re: any suggestions?
My DD threw up from coughing a few times. The ped said it is also due to a post nasal drip- it drips, causes the cough and then causes vomit when it hits their stomach.
They wont' give a cough suppresant but depending on your child's weight they might allow you to give benadryl- they will tell you the dose- to dry up the drip that is causing the cough.
That really helped for us.
Also run a cool mist humidifer at all times he is sleeping.
