Question about books and Nook/kindle
I am possibly interested in getting an e-reader - but I am cheap and NEVER buy books. I only rent them from the library. Is this a good option for me or no? Those of you who have nooks/kindles - do you buy a lot of your books? Are new books available on line?

Re: Question about books and Nook/kindle
You can rent from the library on both.... I mostly buy books under $5... There are also a lot of free books on both.

Re: Question about books and Nook/kindle
I have a Nook and went a little crazy buying books so I try to stick to getting the cheapies. I did buy the "11/22/63" because I heard how great it was and I was not dissapointed.

Re: Question about books and Nook/kindle
DW has several dozen books that were free, and she's borrowed several from the library. Especially if you like the classics, there are plenty of sites that offer those e-books for free.

Re: Question about books and Nook/kindle
I'm spending a lot. I used to go to the library and get books out. Now with the kindle, I'm reading more which is a plus, but when i finish a book, I immediately buy a new one. I think since november, I've bought 7 of the Jack Reacher series alone all at 9.99 a pop
ETA : and have not taken out a single book from the library.

Re: Question about books and Nook/kindle
I used to buy a lot, but since the Kindle has started allowing library lending I haven't bought a single one. I would try going to your library's website and searching for some books/authors you like to see if they are available as ebooks and then you'll be able to better judge.

Re: Question about books and Nook/kindle
I've been 50/50. I've borrowed a lot, but I'm frustrated that a lot I want isn't available electronically yet.

Re: Question about books and Nook/kindle
Thanks everyone. I think I am going to pass on a nook/kindle unless DH buys me an ipad :) The books at the librarys I am a member of aren't really THAT great!
