1 1/2 year old suddenly a picky eater...normal?
my dd used to eat ANYTHING we put in front of her. her favorite food was raviolis...she LOVED them. over the past 2 weeks we have noticed shes becoming picky. foods she used to love, like raviolis, she wont touch. she makes a face and spits it out. i thought it was maybe a texture thing, but last night i went to put pasta on her plate and she screamed, she wouldnt even touch it. i literally put it in front of her and she wasnt having it, didnt even attempt to eat it. this morning i went to give her oatmeal, she screamed when the spoon came near her.
the past couple nights all i can get her to eat is mac n cheese or chicken nuggets. no veggies. ive been trying to get creative with meals but nothing is working.
is this normal??? and i know shes not teething, so thats not it.

My daughter is 18 months and just became picky also. She used to eat so much food and almost anything... in the last 3 weeks or so it has drastically changed... so maybe it is an age thing?

My dd is 19 months and eats basically the same thing every day because that is the only thing she will eat. I still try to get her to eat other foods, but right now she will only eat what she wants.

Same here! DD turns 18m tomorrow and for the past few weeks has been turning down things she used to love. I couldn't get her to eat any proteins until a few days ago when she started getting back to normal.
I have NO explanation for this but find it is getting a little better...

Lol...this is my 15m old DS. I tried to give him a tomato today and he picked it up, gave me "the face" and threw it on the floor like I just handed him garbage. He will only eat cheese, mac n cheese, everroast chicken, waffles, cinnamon raisin bread, grilled cheese & chicken nuggets.
Luckily, he gets "juice" every day which I make for him with kale, cucumber, celery, apple, lemon & ginger. Otherwise our veggie quotient would be very low.
We also still give him the Stage 3 Happy Baby Meals for dinner (along with finger food). He'll eat them if and only if we distract him with a puzzle or comedic performance

Re: 1 1/2 year old suddenly a picky eater...normal?
ds is 16 months old and ate everything and i mean everything from 8 months old to 13.5 months then became a carb addict only cereal and sweet foods like fruits , now at 16 months he has gone back to eating pretty much everything. At first when he started to refuse I would give in and give him oatmeal now he just doesn't eat when he doesn't like something and when he whines for food again i only reintroduce what he refused. it comes with tears and temper tantrums but this is something that i have no sympathy for learn to like it or starve that's how i was raised and i love that my palette is sophisticated due to these rules
said the lady who is still breastfeeding and prob wont stop till he is 22 hahahhaha
