Just ate blue cheese dressing by accident and freaking out!
DH just picked up a salad for me from Friendly's. He asked for ranch dressing on the side but they gave him blue cheese. I have a head cold and can barely taste anything so it took me a while to realize what I was eating. I'm freaking out now worrying about listeria. Do you think it will be ok? Should I call my dr?

I would not stress about it. Most Dr's say moderation. Unless it was rancid which im sure you would have known, I'm sure you will be ok.

pasteurized is suppose to be safe........friendly's is most likely pasturized, I think there would be concern about cafe's that might make their own.

It is most likely ( 99.99%) pastaurized since it isn't from a gourmet restaurant. You should be fine!

I eat it too, my doctor said as long as it's pasteurized. I would imagine a place like Friendly's would be... I think you're fine!

you're fine ive eaten blue cheese a bunch of times. like pp said, it's okay if it's pasteurized and a chain would def use pasteurized blue chees

I think you are fine ~ I am sure Friendly's is pasturized and one time you will be ok. I did have it once ~ I had a cold and asked for ranch after I was dipping my chicken wing I came across a chunk and realized Ranch doesn't have chunks. I think everything in moderation is ok!

I eat this occasionally with buffalo chicken tenders (Ken's brand, which is probably similar to what the restaurant uses)...I think you're OK!

Don't freak. It's incredibly hard to get unpasturized cheese in the United states. Somewhere like Friendly's would most certainly not use it. I've been eating blu cheese crumbles on my homemade harvest salads my entire pregnancy.

I'm pretty sure any blue cheese dressing is perfectly fine -- it's been pastuerized and is safe.
I admit I've been eating it through all three of my pregnancies.
