Re: MIL vent
Oh hell no! If you dont want her there then thats that. I would go crazy if my MIL was in the delivery room with me. That is so wrong of her in making you feel guilty

Re: MIL vent
my mom did that to me..my MIL in asked.. we said no to MIL- no questions asked.. My mom on the other hand, has not stopped.. she continues to argue- and then willback down.. then will questions dh and i decision to have it just be the two of us. We agreed to let her in before pushing and but i dont think im going to call her until i know i am close and almost ready to push.. i am so sorry your MIL is doing this to you.. your stressed enough, you really dont need this. Maybe compromise- have herbe ther a little while or guarantee when the baby is born, she can be brought in to see the three of you all together.. I wishyou the best..

She had her "due right" when she had her own children. She got to be in the room then.

Re: MIL vent
My Mil and step-mil's are both evil witches and we have nothing to do with them. My mom is the greatest woman alive and she'd get a swift kick in the rear if she ever even asked! Stand your ground!!

Re: MIL vent
wow! I'm sorry that you have to deal with this. It's not a party, it's labor and the most important thing is for you to be comfortable! Check with your doc/hospital. Ours (Huntington) will only allow one person in the room. And one other person could switch in if needed. We chose not to tell anyone the second part and the hospital is very good about supporting the parents wishes.
I would have hated having anyone else there - it would have stressed me out totally and really, the mother is going through enough stress at the time.
Good luck!
