Hotel on Long Island where you can walk to fun bars and restaurants?
DH and I live OOS and have started coming to LI to visit my parents and leave DD with them overnight so we can have some fun We stayed at our wedding hotel, Hyatt Windwatch but would like to go somewhere that we can stay and walk around to bars and drink and not worry about driving.
We thought about going into the city but I would think there would be a set-up SOMEWHERE on LI that we can do this and it be alot cheaper than the city.
Any ideas?

There is a nice Hampton Inn in Rockville Centre that is walking distance to all the bars and restaurants there

I think Danfords in Port Jeff fits the requirements. A friend stayed there recently and said the rooms were basic but clean.

There is a best western in Massapequa Park on sunrise hwy. It's close to the LIRR station (a little bit of a walk, but not much) and is close to the main street in MP (where the Good Life is).

I was also going to say PJ. There are several bars & restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The bar at Danfords is really nice as well!

I second this as an area, although I haqven't been in the hotel. Its in the heart of RVC and a very quick walk to the train.

This hotel is great. My husband and family stayed there the night before our wedding. I would recommend this option.
