Which to do first?
In the Master Bedroom DH and I have to rip up the carpet and lay down hardwood floors down since there aren't any. We also have to paint that room.
Which do we do first? Paint the walls/ceiling or do the floors? My gut is telling me that painting is first so that you don't have to worry about spillage but i'm not 100%.
We won't be living in the home at this time and won't have any furniture in the room.

if you have to have the new floors sanded... you should do work on the walls and prime so that sanding will take off anything that might drip... then do the floors... then do the last coast of paint.
The sanding will get dust all over the walls. You don't want to do that once they are all painted!

Re: Which to do first?
Are you planning on getting pre-finished floors, or floors that need to be put down first, then finished?

I don't know lol. Probably whatever is cheaper and will best match with the other floors on the floor.

Re: Which to do first?
I recently asked a similar question - paint or sand and redo the floors first. The answers were basically split down the middle. We wound up redoing the floors first and then painted, mostly just because of timing of the contractors and not really because we had made a decision. But if you are putting in new floors, I would paint first and then install the new floor.

agree with all the posters above. Do priming & 1st quote before flooring. Do flooring & have final quote after that. This will make your wall fresh without any dust of sanding.
