Allergy meds
DS #1 has awful awful seasonal allergies. I give him zyrtec, nasonex and eye drops everyday. It doesn't seem to be getting any better so ped finally prescribed singular. He took it last year no issues with at all. As a matter of fact it was the only thing that helped him. He took it for 1 month. HOWEVER I was not aware of the nasty side effects possible wih this medication. Now I am scared to give i to DS and have a reaction. Has anyone given this to their child with ASD and had bad results with side effects? I want him to get better but now that I know what can happen I am afraid.... any input is appreciated!

Re: Allergy meds
We are struggling with bad allergies right now too. Biggest issue is itchy, red and swollen eyes. Maybe try allegra or claratin?

Re: Allergy meds
DS is having REALLY bad allergies this season. Scratching like crazy and doesn't help with his sensory issues.
We also give him eyes drops, Cortizone cream, eczema cream prescribed by the Ped and he's on Allegra twice a day. Seems to be helping a bit
Oh, and an oatmeal bath.

Re: Allergy meds
We all use D- hist. It is an all natural dehistamine. It by far works better than any allergy.
