C-Section Recovery and Older Sibling (post from Parenting)

(Sorry I don't know how to copy posts)

Hey All. Just curious how the c-section thing and the big brother/sister thing works. If I end up having a c-section when will I see my son and when can he see the baby?

How did you introduce them? Were you there when they met for the first time?

Did they allow them in recovery?

Did you wait until they put you in a room?

Did you get a private family moment to introduce them?

I think it will have to be my Husband comes out announces the baby is here and then when they wheel the baby up to get a bath my son can see him/her? (That is the first opportunity but I wont be there Chat Icon and we are team green.

So confused. I really wanted to be there to see them meet. How did you do it?

Need ideas From BTDT Moms Chat Icon

Have not BTDT but will in June.

DD is 3 and is not cool with dr's or unfamiliar places like the hospital so I think the best way for her to meet her lil brother will be at home when we are released from the hospital.

She will most likely be spending the days while I am recovering with my in-laws so that will give me and DH time alone with our new child.
