Did anyone hear this?? RE:Gilgo Beach Murders
***Let me preface by saying I have NO opinion either way. I saw it on facebook. I did not know the man or his family. Feel free to remove this post if you are offended, as that is NOT my intention.***
Did anyone hear that Jim Bissett (owner of Bissett Nursery and Riverhead Aquarium) is the prime suspect in the Gilgo Beach killings? Someone on my facebook posted it and hen I googled it and found this .
I am so sorry if anyone knew this man and I offended them. Please understand that is NOT my intention.

I heard that too but if you look at the article it's kind of old. I think people are just starting rumors.
i know the article is old, he killed himself in dec. all the rumors started within april and now. Look at the dates. I thought the same thing. If you go o the last page, it is still talked about within the hour. Someone said wbab talked about it yesterday.

Yes I have heard this rumor. It would be crazy if true but I dont know if any of this is true or not. Supposedly it was to be announced a few days ago but the newspapers never came out and told of this new info. So unless I hear it from the Police/FBI I dont believe it.

Never heard of him.
I have always thought whoever the killer is, will be someone a little more local to Gilgo.
Who knows.
Whoever it is, I hope they figure it out soon.

I do know the family and i am pretty sure that they are linking him to the murders in manorville NOT the ones at giglo beach

I dont think its anyones business personally to be talking sh*t about someone who took their life. Even if he was involved in GB, he wouldve been one of a few people. If you read reports, police and investigators are saying that there are NO suspects, because they believe there to be MORE THAN ONE person involved.
If he was involved, God bless his family, as they will have to endure the torture from the media, and lets hope they find anyone else who was part of it. But until the media posts anything or makes anything official, people need to STOP GOSSIPING and think the best of him. James Bisset was a generous man. He donated money to various causes and charities and was a great friend as well. My mother was friendly with him, and his children grew up across the street from us. His loss affected thousands of people. Not many of us will die having touched or helped as many as he had.
I think everyone should just keep quiet and not question this man until anything is proven. How horrible would everyone feel if they accused him of such a crime and he was found out to be ENTIRELY INNOCENT? Not to mention, his family has EVERYONE talking rumors behind their back now that arent necessarily true.
Just keep in mind how you would feel if your husband or father were a great man who committed suicide, and people talked about him as poorly as everyone has been the past few days. Pretty sad.

If you read the other posts you'd see that no one is talking shit about a deceased man. Everyone is discussing speculation that they have heard. No one said he wasn't a good man they are saying the things they've heard. Someone even said that they weren't going to believe anything until the police announce it.
I think the conversation everyone is having here is the opposite of "talking shit". This is a public forum, if you don't like the topic then don't read the post.

I started the post. I do not know this man. I am and was in NO WAY talking shit about him. I was just seeing if anyone else had heard about this. If he or his family was/is close friends of yours, I apoligize. But, I, and from what I read, and no one else, has bashed him or talked bad about him.

Honestly, I never accused anybody of talking shit. But I think everybody should stop talking about the what-ifs… Until something is proven. This is how rumors start. It's easy to accuse a dead man of such a horrible crime. Especially being that he's not here to even defend himself anymore.
I'm not looking to start a fight. I just think people shouldn't gossip about him.

I did not know this until I saw this post, but I find it really interesting. A different article online mentioned that his suicide was the day after they found Shannon Gilbert's body.
Not that that means he did it, but it's an interesting fact.

I had met him a few times thru work functions, really a nice down to earth guy. We were shocked to hear of his suicide. I'd be very surprised if these rumors are true. I really hope they aren't because he would be the last person I would think could do such a horrible thing.

I think she may be referring to the 900 page post on topix about it. If this guy is innocent I feel pretty bad. There are some crazy things being said on that page. If he isn't.. well then.... he deserves it.

Someone else pointed out that you may be referring to a post on topix, which I don't even know what that is. If that is what you are referring to then go post over there and accuse them of talking shit.
