If you let DC CIO...

Did you do it for naps also or just at night?
We are on night 4 & nights are getting better but naps are getting worse.
I was still going to rock her to sleep for the naps because she used to go to sleep pretty easy but now she just stares at me & won't sleep (after a 5min screaming fit which is normal for her.)
When I tried to put her in her crib & let her cry, it was over an hour & she wouldn't nap.
She wasn't even crying too much just sitting in there.
How did this work for you during the day?

We did it for naps and bedtime. Some days were hit or miss. Now she pretty much goes right down for both. She still may fuss a minute or two, but nowhere near as long as she used to.

Re: If you let DC CIO...

For all of my kids I started with bedtime the first time. Then followed through with naps the next day.

CIO for naps never worked for dd. she's almost 2 and I still Rick/rub her back for naps. Nighttime worked like a charm.

Keep trying! My girls still take much longer to fall asleep for naps and we did CIO about 2 months ago. I find that music def helps the napping process.

Started w/bedtime, then moved onto naps. It was too much for me to do it all at once.

Re: If you let DC CIO...

These naps are killing me!
I know it's bad but today I threw her in the car seat & drove around because I just couldn't deal with her fighting me for an hour & a half to take a 45 minute nap.
I don't know what to do.
Maybe she's dropping her morning nap.
Yesterday she only had one nap & it was a BAD day!
She was so tired but wouldn't go to sleep at 9 for her first nap so she never took it.
She had a 2 hour nap from 11-1 but from 4 until bedtime she was miserable.
I think she needs more then one nap but I don't know how to get her to fall asleep or if I should force her.

I force them! If the pack n play won't work I try the swing. It helps if I leave them in the swing and walk out of the room. Eventually I think they fall asleep out of boredom! I also let them have blankets during their naps. i think it helps them snuggle better. I check on them constantly to make sure they aren't smothering themselves.
