Maternity leave sub plans
Nt sure how its done down here on LI and in NYC but in my district, I am required to leave 2 weeks of full plans for my sub when going on a leave.
I will be out June 11th until the 22nd (last day) for my leave. So those 2 weeks are the 2 weeks of plans I need to leave.
How would you write/ organize the plans for the sub for the last 2 weeks of school?
I am at the point where I dont really care what she does with them since the quarter is over and summer fever will have hit

I would plan fun activities then, and also I've her a few worksheets to copy should she need them, reviewing math, reading, etc. I would Los tell her to feel free to do whatever she wants, that it's her classroom now! Good luck!

Re: Maternity leave sub plans
I agree with the pp about giving the sub freedom... although she may feel torn about what to do with them too depending one what kind of sub she is. You may want to prepare some sheets that have review work for the next grade that she could base lessons off of. Typically in June, I would do a mix of creative/fun activities, as well as some introductions for things they may learn at the beginning of the following school year.

Re: Maternity leave sub plans
I was thinking of writing up the objectives for my plan book but leaving everything in subject folders for her ( ie Science/ SS/ ELA etc) with all the copies for the students so she can be flexible and not locked into any schedule since there are so many things happening at the end of the year like performances and parties.
I'm more concerned with getting everything packed away for the summer- we have to clear all walls, bulletin boards and cover all shelves/bookcases for when they come to clean the floors.
