Xpost from Pregnancy: Siblings meeting for first time
How did your first child (older children) met their new brother or sister? Did they help announce the baby was here at the hospital? Did they meet them in your room before everyone else? What are some tips? Looking for some advice on how to do things at the hospital. Did you have a c-section or natural birth? What did you like dislike? Thanks for the ideas/help.
Just trying to make this smooth.

It really depends on your hospital's policies. My DD is not allowed in any area of the hospital other than the lobby. Being that she is only 2 1/2 and will prob be upset to see her new brother then take him away, I am planning on having them meet at home. I am having a c-section at Stonybrook

I'm having a c-section at stony brook also and was told DD ( she is also 2) will be allowed in my room to visit. They said only siblings of the new baby are allowed to visit, no other children.

Re: Xpost from Pregnancy: Siblings meeting for first time
DH brought 22 month old DS to the hospital to visit me and meet DD. It was just us and my mom so he wouldn't get overwhelmed. He didn't show too much interest, he was more excited about seeing me and was busy playing with the hospital bed lol. He did help hold the bottle when I fed her. He only stayed aboyt an hour and then DH took him home. It wasn't until we got home that he started acknowledging her presence. She's 5 mos old now and he loves her to pieces.
