Where did you get DC's first pair of walking shoes?

DD has started full on walking so I want to get her walking shoes. I was just thinking about going to stride rite at Roosevelt field.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Does Nordstrom measure infants well?

We went to Stride-Rite to get DD's first pair of walking shoes and still go back for a lot of her shoes. They are fantastic at fitting them and making recommendations.

We have gotten all of DDs shoes at stride rite.
Love them! They are a little more $ than I would like to spend on shoes for a 14 month old, but they hold up well and you can get good sales at the outlets.

Stride Rite.
I wanted her properly measured and I wanted her first pair of shoes to be good and supportive. I felt that was important.
After the first time, we ended up going to the Stride Rite outlet.
They sill measure there and the shoes were literally half the price.

And still at 21 months we get her shoes there. I feel a good supportive shoe is important. She wears payless shoes on occassions and just got new old navy flip flops for the pool, but for an everyday shoe she wears her stride rites

fitted her at stride rite, then we went out east to the srtide rite outlet and got the shoes there for a bit less then the acutally store wanted.

i also go to stride rite, go have them measured sometimes they have sales and you can get some on zappos, not much cheaper though

at 2 yrs old thats still where my dds get their shoes, especially since one has wide feet

stride rite outlet in deer park. Much cheaper than store.

We went to the Stride Rite outlet. They were super helpful, spoke with me about which shoes are best at which stage and measured DD's foot.

Stride Rite..... I love them...a little pricey but worth every penny, specially in the beginning. When you buy a pair of shoes, they give you a survey to be filled out on line and when completed you get a $5 coupon for your next purchase......no expiration date on it.

To answer your question about Nordstrom...they know how to measure very well. I actually used to manage the Children's shoe department after college. We were trained by Stride Rite to measure. They also have a large selection of Stride rite shoes there!

But as everyone has also said, you can not go wrong with going directly to Stride rite as well!

Still go there and she's 4 now! I will only get her sneakers and sandals there usually.
