1 year old waking up several times during the night

Help please!!!!! My 1 year old has been waking up several times during the night and I can not figure out what is going on. He wakes up and stands up or kneels over the bar on his crib and cries I'ts not teething. I know this because it has gotten to the point where I just put him in the bed with us and then he sleeps sound for the rest of the night. I don't know what to do. We recently transitioned him to the crib from the pack and play. He was fine the first 2 weeks and now we have this. Has anyone else experienced this? We do not want to do CIO. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I dont have any advice but going through the same thing. Some nights she sleeps great and other nights will only sleep fine with us after waking up screaming at some point in the night. I dont want to do cry it out and since its not every night and although i can't figure out a pattern I just deal with it.

I guess just need to count my blessings. He was STTN since he was 5 weeks old. I just thought he would continue with that...sigh

My Dd did this between the ages of 12 months to about 18 months. My oed said it could be night terrors and I beleiev it probably was. She was a godd sleeper until then. She would ussually wake up maybe twice a week screaming and crying. We started juts going in to her crib but not taking her out. I would talk to her and rub her back. Sometimes I would even hold her hand through the crib bar and lay on the floor until she fell back to sleep- not fun but I thought if I started taking her out of the crib she would assume that was happening each time.
I didn't want to start a trand of her sleeping in my bed sisnce I was pregnant with DS at the time.
She is almost 3 now and a great sleeper! It's a phase and it will pass :)

I read recently that they start dreaming around this age and can have nightmares.

I went through that with my youngest up until age 20 months. I never brought him into our bed but would either talk to him through our intercom or go to his crib. Now at almost 23 months he did it again last night but I brought him into our bed. I know it was a dream bc he was even scared with me going into his room.
