Potty Training setback

DS turned 4 in March and we started potty training soon after. He was doing well and we finally got rid of the pull-ups at night last month. He has been wetting the bed for the past week straight. He doesn't wake up from it either. He sleeps like a log.

I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for me. I don't want to go back to pull ups, but that may be my only choice. We have him go to the bathroom before bed each night. DH stays up later than me. Should I have him wake him up again and make him go? I feel bad doing that too, but something has to change here.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: Potty Training setback

was he waking up dry when he was in the pull ups? if not then he isn't ready for night time yet.

DS is almost 5 and we just got him out of night time pull ups... he was waking up dry for 2 weeks before we did so.

Have you tried one of those alarms that goes off when he begins to wet the bed? It is supposed to help the child become more aware and is often used with children who are very heavy sleepers.

Re: Potty Training setback

Thank you for the replies. He was dry every morning for three weeks before we stopped. Then he went almost a month without an accident. Seems so random that he wet the bed every day so far this week.

I didn't even know they made alarms. I will definitely look into it. All of my kids are heavy sleepers. My 6 year old wet the bed the other night too and he never has accidents. How they don't wake up is beyond me. I am a light sleeper.
