Advice needed...
So yesterday, as I was walking behind my husband at the store, I accidentally kicked the back of his shoe with my toe (I was in flip flops) and half of my big toe's nail ripped off (bleeding too). When I got home, I had it wrapped in a bandaid, but couldn't put on sneakers. Today, I've had the bandaid off to let air at it but it still feels weird to put pressure on it as I am walking. If you haven't experienced this before, think of the feeling you get when your fingernail breaks low and you put pressure on it. It's like a weird feeling, but my toe has a little bit of pain past that weird feeling. I skipped the gym today because of it, but I really want to go to the gym tomorrow. Am I crazy? How can I wrap it to protect it from my moving around in my sneakers too much and also from the sneakers hitting the top of my toe when moving around?
Any advice would be great!!!

Re: Advice needed...
I have heard the tighter you have it in a shoe the better. Either way, I would get it checked by a Podiatrist to see your best course of action.

Advice needed...
Almost the same thing happened to me two summers ago i had to live in flip flops for almost two weeks it was excrutiating to wear anything closed toe. My advice is hold off until you dont feel that intense pain anymore it will just take longer to heal then

Why don't you use it as a time to change up your activity? Get some DVDs that you can do barefoot. Maybe focus on upper body and core stuff while you heal.

Re: Advice needed...
Thanks so much for the advice! I was able to get a sneaker on but depending on the movement, it was painful, so I may just stick to upperbody for now, and floor exercises of the few I can do. At times, I am confident that I can do everything with it, and then the wind blows the wrong way over it and it starts becoming painful and throbbing. So frustrating and it's just a toenail (not even the whole thing)!!!!
