I always use water from my brita in the fridge and then warmed up the bottle. Am I not suppose to do that? My DS always had his bottles warmed up.
We do this too, tho now we don't always warm up their bottles.

Re: question about water for formula
We use our pur water filter attached to our faucet. When out of the house we use a bottle, like Poland Spring.

Re: question about water for formula
First, congratulations!!! I hadn't seen you had your little girl!! I am so happy for you!!!! She is beautiful!!!
I used to boil water that was from my Brita filter. Not really sure why - I don't remember if the doctor told me to boil it or use filtered, but I'd boil the water and then put it in a container (empty, cleaned out milk jug) to leave on the counter.

Re: question about water for formula
I'm surprised by the responses. My pediatrician said that our Long Island water (I'm in Massapequa) is better than bottled water. Bottled water isn't regulated where our tap water is. This I know for a fact, and he said it unsolicited. Also, the only reason to boil the water is that it mixes the formula better so that it dissolves. Unless you have well water, you can use water from the tap as is and just mix the bottles as you use them.

Re: question about water for formula
we used the brita and we did not leave it out we put it in the fridge and heated up each bottle once prepared with formula in the bottle warmer....never boiled the water prior to adding it to the brita....never used bottled water as my ped said bottled water had too much fluoride and our queens water was perfect...also never said to boil it so i never even though about it

Re: question about water for formula
I boil DS's water. We are in NYC.
ETA: he is almost 9 months and here and there I use just NYC tap and don't boil it.

Re: question about water for formula
It's so interesting to read all the responses. I'm sure all options are really fine. My ped told us to boil, while explaining that the water supply is fine, it's just an extra precaution. Eventually I guess I'll do whatever works best for our family, but I'll listen to the ped to start out.

We boiled tap water and let it sit out until it was room temperature.
