Morning Sickness & Miscarriage

I was just reading online that some studies suggest that the more morning sickness you experience, the more likely you are to carry to term. Additionally, the longer you actually suffer with the morning sickness, the better your chances of going to term.

On the flip side, women who had no morning sickness were 3 times more likely to miscarry.

According to my phone apps and online research, I am about 6w4d and i know some women already had morning sickness set in.

Has anyone else read anything about this?

All I know is my OB said everyone is different. Actually, it is more common NOT to have morning sickness. You just hear about it more because the women that don't have it don't go around saying I don't have morning sickness.

I had Chat Icon Chat Icon and never had morning sickness. I was extremely paranoid especially since I had a prior miscarriage and i was told with twins that symptoms can be much stronger. I actually felt great my entire pregnancy, so you just never know. GL!

I've actually never heard of this. Plenty of women don't have any m/s and go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies and babies. I wouldn't be worried. I'm a few days ahead of you and my beta is over 92k. I've had m/s on and off a few days but was totally fine the past two days. I'm not worried and neither should you.

Are these really studies that are published? Sounds like nonsense!
At this point my history and experience is probably more valid! I agree with the other ladies, no more google! Keep positive thinking and if you're concerned with anything, ask your doctor.

i had no morning sickness and i delivered at 33w. guess it's totally right... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

seriously though, why would you listen to that garbage?! rationally, you KNOW that everyone is different and has different experiences. not to mention that you are so early that you may end up with TERRIBLE morning sickness and regret ever wishing for it...

i know there is always a lot of nervousness when you go through infertility, but you need to take it one day at a time and not worry about things like that. guess what, even if it was true, you have NO CONTROL over it anyway. so what are you going to do - spend your entire pregnancy being worried about it? about something that might never actually happen? google also might tell you that moms with high anxiety during pregnancy are more likely to end up with fussy colicky babies. you have a choice - you can believe everything and let it stress you out, or you can relax. it's your choice!

i agree with the other ppl....not everyone gets morning sickness, i was looking for it and hoping to get some of it so that i could "feel" pregnant but it never came. I am now 18 weeks pregnant and so far still no real symptoms except for tiredness and of course my growing mid section!

dont worry, as long as your sonos and blood work are going good you're ok

I was with terrible M/S with my first 2 pregnancies and so far (im not that far along though 5w5d) I feel GREAT maybe 1-2 days of nauseau...it definately does make me worry a little more but then I just think that I put in my dues, had terrible pregnancies ---I finally deserve a good one that results in a happy and healthy bambino :)

Re: Morning Sickness & Miscarriage

I think this is one of those old wives tails. With my son I had morning sickness FIVE to TEN times a DAY for 7 1/2 full months. For my daughter, I was sick less than five times the entire pregnancy.

Re: Morning Sickness & Miscarriage

No morning sickness with DS and delivered past DD! I think pregnant women who do not have MS do not complain ab it so people think it's a common, necessary thing. I had some friends get their MS @7-8 weeks so I am hoping you are still in the clear!!

Re: Morning Sickness & Miscarriage

Everyone is different. I had a mis and had no morning sickness....but I am now currently 27 weeks pregnant and my morning sickness didnt start until I was 8 weeeks. So I think many people dont experience it b/c they just arent at that point yet....
