Dealership buying out your lease
I keep on getting phone calls from Honda in regards to buying out my lease (I have a Toyota). Is this a scam?
TIA

Dealership buying out your lease
Not a scam but usually they just bury your remaining payments in a new deal.

Dealership buying out your lease
I had a dealership buy out the remaining months on my lease (8 months worth). And it totally worked out in my favor.

Re: Dealership buying out your lease
I inquired about this with my CX9. I am getting pretty high in my miles and my lease is not up until July of next year.
The dealer said that I would pretty much be screwed right now if I tried t trade it in, but if I come in at the end of the year, they should be able to work something out. And I would get the brand new 2013 model, most likely.
I am torn because DH and I really like the car and would like to buy it if possible, even if we just got it for what is left on our loan.
So many people I talk to said it's not worthwhile though.........the dealership charges you a lot and it's like buying a really expensive used car.
What say you?

Re: Dealership buying out your lease
I wish someone would call and offer me something like this. How do they find out your info? I have an accord which I love but it's just not big enough. My lease is up next June. I am under my miles and my car is in good condition just wish it was bigger.

Dealership buying out your lease
I always give back and re lease about 6 months early and it's always worked in my favor... I've never had remaining payments rolled in to the new lease.

Re: Dealership buying out your lease
We had Volvo buy out our Volkswagen last summer. They paid it off (14K and change) penny for penny and it didn't affect our monthly payments on our new car at all.

Same, except it was VW to VW for us.

Dealership buying out your lease
I'm hoping we can do this with our Prius. We leased it before we planned on moving and then 18 months later, we moved a bit further away from our jobs/family so we have put a lot more miles on it than we originally anticipated. Our lease is up in June and we are about 6k miles away from hitting our mile mark. We've gotten a few postcards from other dealers offering deals but we're not ready yet. Hoping that by the end of the year we can get into a new lease without paying extra.
