To let everyone know the workshop is taking place on August 22 from 130 to 330 at uft office...dono why it's not posted on their website. You would have to be registered to go and it depends on due date. Here is her contact [email protected]

uft maternity leave workshop
This is what I did, My first day out was april 16 th and I had my baby by c section on april 25 th. I used my sick days (20) and then I borrowed 20 days. If I wanted to keep getting paid, I would have to have gone back on June 13 (not sure if that is exact). I didn't go back and I went on unpaid leave until the last day of school. My summer paychecks have been normal, but I will be getting docked from my fall paychecks for the days I was out..... Plus now I am 20 days in the hole. I would definitely talk to a uft person because all the women at my school have all done different things......also, my payroll secretary would tell me one thing and the uft wouls tell me another.
From what I was told your FMLA and maternity leave run concurrently. You get 6 weeks paid for vaginal or 8 weeks paid for c- section. In order to get paid those weeks you have to have the sick days in your bank to cover it. if not then you can borrow days and then after that you can get a grace period which will pay you for weekends?
Hope some of that made sense....
