Re: do you put a lock on your luggage
Yes! It sits around so you never know. (But it must be one that is TSA approved - so they can open it and search the bag when needed. It has a slot for a TSA key.)
You will know TSA opened the bag to search, because the lock has a little pop up red piece that will pop up when opened with the key. They normally put the lock back on. However, I did lose a lock once might have been when they searched the bag (but I did hear if it gets stuck in the belt they just cut it off).

Re: do you put a lock on your luggage
We now just use cable ties. We tried the TSAlocks and my parents travel several times a year and tried them over and over and they always come backwithout the locks. Someone we know at TSA a while back suggested the ties. They have always been replaced when our bags were opened. I would use something whether the TSA lock or a tie rather than nothing.

Re: do you put a lock on your luggage
Nope. Now that they are searching baggage, I don't want to give them something to break.

Yes. We always put locks on our luggage. We use the TSA approved locks and never had any problems. Sometimes the bags just sit around, so why risk it?

Re: do you put a lock on your luggage
No, but I use twist ties on all the zippers to keep them from opening "accidentally" during movement. TSA has put them back on if they opened my bags.

No and I always thought you can't anymore.
IMO I would not,if they want to get into luggage and there is a lock...they will break it however they need to and get in and have every right to.

do you put a lock on your luggage
We always use cable ties but more so for when we go on cruises because I worry about someone going through our bags since we have seen bags sit around unattended on floors by the elevators quite often

Same here. I've also used locks that are not TSA approved. The worst that will happen is that they will cut the lock to get into your luggage. I'd rather deal w/that than someone somehow getting into my luggage.
