Moms in Plainedge SD
are you very happy with the schools? I've heard positive things and am very much considering moving to N. Massapequa for that reason.
TIA!

Re: Moms in Plainedge SD
I graduated from Plainedge schools and as a student, I thought the schools were very good. My parents moved us there specifically for the schools. N. Massapequa was also a very nice town to grow up in. Nice neighborhoods, lots of kids in a small area. It was great!
I also liked that Plainedge wasn't a HUGE district, I graduated with about 235 kids which was a nice number.........everyone knew each other, nobody got lost in the shuffle. There were good sports programs, honors and college classes, lots of extra curricular activities. It was just a nice district and looking back I was very happy with my education there.

I love in north massapequa. Although my kids aren't in yet, I hear wonderful things from neighbors and family. I am looking forward to ds starting kindergarten next year!

We LOVE the area! DS is starting Kindergarten on Tuesday, but I've heard all positive things about the district. My neighbors all rave about it!

Re: Moms in Plainedge SD
I didn't go there, I am from Massapequa but went to Massapequa school but I have heard really great things, like it has a small town feel, more family oriented, smaller classes, etc. I did hear that they were thinking of cutting their sports or did cut out sports at one time due to the budget, I dont know if they got them back but I know there were a lot of fundraising events and community involvement to raise funds so that the kids dont miss out.

Re: Moms in Plainedge SD
we live in North Mass too! I actually grew up in and went to Seaford and even as a kid, always heard great things about PSD. I played sports all throughout school and we always competed against PSD and even then, I could just see that it was a great SD.
My son wont start KD for another few years but we moved here for the SD, or at least one of the top 2-3 reasons why.
