Re: please im going insane
Not sure on the numbers.. but at about 18 weeks had the Quad test for the downs and 3 others.. and at 19 weeks, had the 3d/4d ultra sound. Just by the fact of my age(42)the risk puts me at 1:50 for downs and other issues...but my quad test and the ultrasound combined put me at a 1:1300 chance ( as in someone in their 20's by the charts) so things have gone well so far in this pregnancy, and im at 36 weeks !! Robert is excited this is his first baby he is happy..... but still wants me to try for a after this one -- yikes -lol was surprize for me since my other two are 11 and 13 with my Ex....

I'm sorry, but I don't really follow your post. Did you calculate a 1:4 chance of down's or did your dr?
I'm assuming if your dr calculated it s/he had you meet with a genetic counselor. What did the counselor say?
Also, have you been referred to have an amnio or cvs?

Re: please im going insane
your posts are very confusing, but I get the gist of what your asking since I went through it before.
The numbers you refer to are the nuchal thickness, not hcg. I had my 12 week scan and my number was a 4.7. Max # they want is a 3.5. So if you are saying that you had a 3.6 measurement, you are just a tad over the "normal." Not sure of anything on your blood level measurements, as I did not have the blood tests, I went straight to the CVS test at 12 weeks because of my age (I was 39 at the time).
I had the nuchal thickness measured again at a high risk perinatal place and it did indeed measure a 4.7. So I had the CVS because all the doctors thought for sure with my age and such a high reading, that I probably had a chromosomal abnormality (possibly Downs).
Everything with the chromosomes came back completely normal.... I did go on to continue to have early anatomy scans, a fetal echocardiogram, etc. and my boy was and is as healthy as can be.
Good Luck!
