WWYD?
There's a boy in DD's class (2nd grade) who is new to our building. The past 2 days due to the rain they've had indoor recess and none of the other boys were playing with him so my DD and 2 of her friends played with him. DD is worried that he's going to want to play with them every day and that she and her friends aren't going to want to do "boy things."
I'm friendly with a few of the moms of boys in the class. Would you reach out to them and see if they would gently push their boys to include him in their play? Or just let it go and hope he just gets included naturally as the year progresses?

Re: WWYD?
I think that reaching out is incredibly kind of you and I am sure his mom would really appreciate it. Kids can be so hard on one another at this age so I am sure it would make his llife easier. Could you set up a group play date and invite the new kid to join?

If you're comfortable reaching out, I would.

I would speak to the teacher. There may be something she can do to encourage friendships within the classrooms.

Re: WWYD?
I ended up mentioning it to the mom of one of the more outgoing boys when we were talking on the phone the other night. She was going to try to feel out what the boys think of the new boy over the weekend.

I like this idea, I'll mention it next week if DD says that it hasn't changed. Thanks!
