A Vent & WWYD
I really hate to complain but I had my beta levels checked today hoping it was finally down to 0 and I'm at a stinkin' "7" !! Ugh I was hoping I'd be negative by now and I'm really really trying to be patient. Ok Vent over!! Now my WWYD, we met with the doctor for our pre-cycle consult to sign ppwork, etc. & the dr. is adamant that I only need to transfer 1 for this FET cycle. (last IVF ended up being a blighted ovum) She said it is ultimately mine and DHs decision as well but she feels strongly that even though we didn't get the outcome we wanted transferring 1 worked and she really doesn't recommend 2. DH is now leaning towards 1 but I just want this to work so badly I really just still want to do 2 but would feel so awful if something didn't go right and I'm going against what the doctor is recommending. So I figured I'd ask what you girls would do?

Re: A Vent & WWYD
First of all for that sloooooow dropping beta!! I could totally identify!!
As for then umber to transfer.... If you and your dh are ok with twins, I think putting back 2 is the way to go.
Just for some perspective, I did PGD on my embryos. The genetics lab told me to expect half to come back abnormal. They said that even 21 year old donors have half come back abnormal. Well, it worked out to be true for me where half the embryos were tested were normal.
Now, going based on that and especially not knowing the genetic makeup of what you are putting back, I would chance it and put back two. The more common scenario if it works (though you wouldn't know it on this board with all the lately!) is that one takes.
Like I said ... if you are ok with 2 taking, I'd chance it. Just as long as your doctor didn't suggest just putting back 1 because of a health risk... a cervix issue... etc. If it's purely because she wants to be conservative, I'd just do what you want.

Thanks Pennycat for the I know you are familiar with pesty betas! We are fine with having 2 the dr is conservative and feels like because I am young and healthy there is no need to have more than 1 at a time & feels strongly about it. Thank you so much for that info it gives me even more to consider

Re: A Vent & WWYD
I was also advised to put back one, but since we were paying out of pocket I didn't want to risk it not working and having to do it again so we went with two. I was initially pregnant with two, but lost one at 8 weeks so I was so grateful I have decided to put 2 back. During our FET's for #2 we went back and forth so many times. We did 2 cycles with only putting one back and 2 cycles putting 2 back and the one that worked was when we put 2 back and we only got pregnant with 1. So I will always say 2, esp if you're ok with the possibility of twins.

i would put back 2 if you are OK with twins. we put back two and ended up with one healthy baby. now that i know what having a baby is like the thought of twins scares the living crap out of me, but i think i would still put back two.

Re: A Vent & WWYD
My RE is very conservative as well. If we do IVF she only wants to put back one. A huge part of me is totally fine with that, I am really nervous about having twins, I had rough pregnancy and delivery with my DS, twins makes me nervous. BUT after reading everyone on this site, the other part of me wants to put back 2. I just want it to work.
I am no help what-so-ever because I have no idea what I am going to do, but I just wanted to let you know you are not alone with putting back 1 or 2.

Re: A Vent & WWYD
I would put back 2. I was PG with twins and though the sac kept growing I lost one at 7 weeks and in my case the sac of the one I lost saved the life of my DS.
