Autism Event at Adventureland - 9/14/12
I forgot to post this. Flyer was sent home from DS' school:
Nassau Suffolk Services for Autism (NSSA) invites you to join us for a night of family fun at Adventureland on Friday,September 14 from 6:30-9:30 pm Adventureland will be closed to the public for this event. That means individuals with autism, their families and friends will have unlimited access to the entire park with verY little waiting time. Best of all, the park will be filled with people who love, care for, and embrace our children.
The advance bracelet price is $18 per person - A savings of $2 per bracelet. This allows you to go directly tot he advance sale window without having to wait on the admission line.
$20 per person at the door - Bracelets include unlimited access to all attractions
No refunds unless event date and rain date are rained out
You only need to purchase a bracelet if you will be going ont he rides. individual tickets for individual ides will be sold the evening of the event.
Food will be sold at he snack bar - No food or drink are allowed in from the outside
To purchase bracelets please fill out the form below and return it with your payment by NOON ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 12TH TO: NSSA, 80 Hauppauge Road, Commack, ny 11725. Orders can be faxed to: 631-462-4201. Please include your email address so that we can send you a confirmation of your payment. You will be given bracelets for entry when you check in at he door that evening.
After 12:00 noon on September 12th, bracelets must be purchased at the door. For more information please contact NSSA at 631-462-0386.
*rain date Saturday, September 15th 6:30-9:30pm

FYI, in case anyone wasn't aware, Adventureland only charges $12 for kids with autism (and other disabilities) on a regular operating day.

I didn't know that!!!!  Gosh, we were just there last weekend and I paid full price! Silly question but do they require any proof of DD's disability??

No, they don't. The parent is also half price as well. I didn't know about it until this past year either. They will also give you a pass to bypass the lines, but we have never utilized that.

Yes, just say "I read you offer a discounted bracelet for children with autism, so I would like to purchase that". Or something along those lines. The child has to be there and they have to put the bracelet on him/her. I think that is the standard procedure with all of the bracelets though. Have fun!

We were there! DS had a fabulous time. We went on the lady bug roller coaster 8 times and the haunted ride 4 times (he loved the spooky spiders!)
