How did you pick you DC birthday theme, if you had one
My DS is going to be one soon and I'm trying to think of ideas for a party. I like the idea of a theme I just don't know what to do. He does not watch TV that much at all so he does not have a favorite show....well except Wheel of Fortune. Lol.
I was thinking of doing trucks/cars but the only thing I have seen so far is Stuff for Cars the movie or John Deere tractors. I'm not loving either. Then I thought fire trucks bc DH is a Vol fireman but I don't know.
I'm not trying to make it a huge deal but I want to do something cute and fun. Ok maybe I am making a big deal lol
Any ideas?

We just thought about stuff that he really liked at the time. We narrowed it down to rubber duckies and music. We decided music would be the easier one for a theme, so we went with that.

I did what I liked. DD never watched tv and was never into any characters. I did a look whoo's 1 theme and thought it was super cute. There will be plenty other birthdays for them to choose what they like.
Just do what you like!

Re: How did you pick you DC birthday theme, if you had one
I just always picked DD's themes based on her favorite show/character/toy at the time. For her first birthday we did Backyardigans, 2nd birthday was Minnie Mouse, 3rd birthday was Ariel, and her 4th birthday was Merida from Brave.
If you check out Birthday Express online they have a ton of different themes and all the coordinating party goodies to go along with it.

Re: How did you pick you DC birthday theme, if you had one
For the first bday I just went off of what we thought would be cute since he wasn't really into anything. DS 1 had a construction theme b.c DH is a contractor so we thought that would be cute. Plus, everyone always bought him trucks and tools. Lol For DS 2 first bday it was July so we wanted to do a summer and pool theme and went with luau since it was cute to decorate outside while people swam, ate, etc.
After that we go off of what they like. 2nd bday was fish since he was into Nemo or any fish then last bday was a Mickey Mou theme at a bounce place. DS 2. Is only 14 months so I have time for that.

DS bedroom is turtles, so we just stuck with that and are doing a turtle theme birthday party. Not going too crazy with the theme though, just the invitations and balloons.
When he gets older and has an interest in something when we through him a friends party, then i think i would go more crazy with the theme

we choose the birthday theme around what DS is in love with at the time. Choose colors w that theme, favors, everything.

Re: How did you pick you DC birthday theme, if you had one
My DS isnt really into tv charaters/shows so i knew i wasnt going to go that route. so then i perused all teh party city themes for boys and nothing was really catching my eye. i figured i would just do some kind of sport theme since my husband is a sports nut. i decided on baseball and then changed it to Yankee Baseball when i saw all the cute stuff they had.
i ended up being 100% happy with my decision because it all came out so cute! pics in album.
