Self serve or regular? (yogurt places)
Which do you prefer?
I actually much prefer the places where they serve you. I feel like with self serve I'm too tempted to take huge portion. I also feel like it's too much work for a little cup of yogurt  I'd rather just order and pay.

I find the self serve places gross. I banned them..lol.... Everytime i used to go i would see someone doing someting disgusting. Some examples:
taking thier fingers and wiping the spout, then licking their fingers and doing it again!
Sneezing all over the machines
Letting thier kids stick their dirty fingers up the spout!

All of it. I love anything soft or regular from carvel to serendipity. I always liked yogurt and such and TCBY.

I usually would be grossed out by self serve in general, but I love love love Yogurt Crazy. They pride themselves on being clean and I have yet to see anything gross going on thankfully.

I have never witnessed that and I go to Red Mango ALL THE TIME lol. That's gross but even still self-serve all the way for me!

I go to the one in Commack all the time and love it. I prefer to be able to make the exact mix of flavors that I want and to put as much or as little of a topping that I want. They also have locations in Huntington, Woodbury and Northport (don't know where - they are listed on the card you get stamped to get $3 off for every 9 yogurts you buy)

I like SweetFrog in Sayville. They have a girl standing by the machines at all times giving samples as needed and wiping spouts. I figure it's fine. I haven't died yet.

We were just at Red Mango yesterday. As we walked up to the self-serve there was a worker spraying disinfectant all over the machines and wiping them down! Actually I got annoyed that the smell of disinfectant was interfering with my tasting! I also don't like it when I'm eating and tables right next to me are sprayed while I'm eating. I feel like I'm inhaling the chemicals!
Anyway, I prefer self-serve because I'm frugal and believe in portion size! My kids get to pick a little of 2 or 3 flavors and I spend less $. They don't have a kids size at RM, so they would be eating more than they need if I paid for the service.

I have seen too much grossness at the self-serve places. Kids and adults coughing all over the stuff, kids sticking their hands in toppings, shoveling it into the mouth and then sticking their hand back in, etc. It's like a stomach virus waiting to happen,
