I hope I did the right thing RE a stray kitty
Tonight my husband found a kitten ( 1 pounder) walking in circles in front of our house. He put it in a crate and noticed it kept falling over and flipping on its back. He had me come to look at it and I knew something was wrong. I decided to take it to a vet to see if they could take it because we just cannot right now. The vet said neurological and told me to take it to the 24 vet in selden where they can help.
Well they told me the kitten had to be put down. It was definitely neurological and probably was born that way and the cost of care would be to much if they were even able to save it.
I signed the kitty over ( in tears) and left. I'm so torn if I did the right thing. I know that she probably would have gotten hit by a car but could she have been saved. Im just a mess

The poor baby was suffering. You did the right thing.

awww, you did the right thing. That baby was so lucky to have you show it love in its short life!

I am sure the kitten would not have survived, so you only did good for the kitten.
eta- Did the vet ever mention anything about the possibility of rabies? That was the first thought that came to my mind.

Sounds like you did everything right to me. Both you and your husband cared enough to take it to two vets and and then humanely sent to sleep.
