I think my dog may be dying
My Tasha turned 14 in August. She's had health issues in the past year, the most recent being uterine cysts tt required me to spay an almost 14 year old dog. She's been pretty good since then. She has better days and worse days, as I assume all old dogs do. She has had accidents in te house, not daily, but they usually come in spurts. A couple accidents two days in a row and then fine.
Anyway, she seems really out of it today. Like she can't settle down. I went to the store before and when I came home she was laying in my closet. I just found her in there again. I'm worried she's doing it because she's on her way out. And I don't know what to do.

First, call the Vet.
The vet can give you an idea of what is going on and if there is anything that CAN be done.
I know this is so hard. I have a dog and it BREAKS my heart when people post things like this.
But call the vet.
The other thing is be open. If the vet says "this really is it", Don't allow your sweet baby to suffer. I am of the firm belief that if there is something really wrong I would rather die than let my darling suffer.
My heart aches for you and I am SO sorry.

I certainly don't want her living in pain, but I almost prefer her passing comfortable and happy at home then putting her to sleep. I don't want to drag her death out, but if she is going to pass in a day or two, then maybe it would be better for her to be home with her family. I think I will call the vet tomorrow and bring her in.

I would spend as much time with her as possible. Sadly I think you may be right. Animals often do this when they are dying. My cat went to lay behind the toilet bowl the day she passed. Please spend the night with your dog, I know how much you love your dog.

She made it through the night and actually seems a bit better this morning. She's not getting any younger, so I know she will pass at some point, but I did get her to eat last night and gave her a lot of extra love. She seems much more settled today and not restless. I'm praying she was just having an off day yesterday.
