Light Bleeding/Spotting ?
I'm not having multiples, but thought that maybe some of you may have experienced this...I am 7 weeks pregnant and I had a big scare last Wed. morning...woke up at 1:00 am to use the bathroom and was bleeding bright red blood like a light period. It lasted a couple of hours and was only pink spotting by morning. Dr. Braverman called me as soon as he got my email and said not to worry, that it can be pretty common in early pregnancy...could be caused by a subchorionic hematoma, but he did not see one on Monday's ultrasound. Could also just be irritation to the cervix. He didn't think that it was necessary to get an ultrasound, so I didn't. My next ultrasound is scheduled for tomorrow (Mon). I haven't had anymore bleeding, but I have been still having bright to dark red spotting off and on. I am staying on partial bed rest until my ultrasound on Monday. Even though Dr. Braverman says to take a deep breath and not worry, it is so very hard! Has this happened to anyone else and if so did they put you on bed rest or anything...what was your outcome? I guess that it is concerning me that it seems to go away and then when I awake in the morning there it is again and then sometimes throughout the day. I am so worried about the baby and tomorrow can't come soon enough...trying to stay calm!!!
---------------------------------- Update...Wed 10/24...Baby looked fine on ultrasound this past Monday. The doctor did see a Subchorionic Hematoma so that is where the bleeding/spotting is coming from. The good news is that it isn't near the baby and they are hoping that it will resolve quickly. I am on rest for now and go back next Monday to get it rechecked. Thanks for everyone's responses and for helping to ease my mind.

Light Bleeding/Spotting ?
I'm sorry. It is so nerve wracking being pregnant! Bleeding can mean all different things. It could most definitely be nothing. The uterus is filled with tons of capillaries and blood vessels. It is a very bloody place in there. Your uterus is doing a lot of construction right now and capillaries can easily rupture. It could be nowhere near the baby :O)
I think they say it is more of a worry if you soak thru a pad within an hour or something like that....
Lots of women have spotting and even heavy bleeding their entire pregnancy. It can really make you crazy. I had a chemical pregnancy before I had my twins. (a chemical pregnancy is a very early miscarriage, I think it is counted as a chemical if its before a heartbeat can be seen on the US) I had a TON of major cramping like I've never had before and there was a ton of bleeding. (Like a super heavy period for days). After that chemical pregnancy I got pregnant with my twins about 2 months later.
With my twins I had an SCH around 7-10 weeks. The SCH didn't come out until around 14 weeks. When it did it was old brown blood and a little bit of red. I was not put on bed rest for the SCH but I did end up on modified bed rest for a shortening cervix at 24 weeks. I didn't have to lay in bed. I could be on the couch and use the bathroom and walk around for short periods of time. The biggest thing they didn't want me to do was stairs. I also was told that it is not a good idea to drive, something about the position of your leg using the gas/brakes.
Honestly, if you are so upset that you are putting yourself on bed rest, then you need to insist they see you earlier just for your peace of mind. You should not have to endure being in a constant state of stress. Stress is NOT a good thing for pregnancy.
I will say that if you have the ability to rest you should take it easy on yourself, you are pregnant. Pamper yourself :O) I personally think some women really over do it when they are pregnant. That is just my own opinion, I spent so long trying to get pregnant I was walking on eggshells the entire pregnancy and couldn't wait for it to be over.
