Review Needed: Larsen Home Improvement
Hi All!
I recently reach out to someone on this board regarding construction and they said that they know of someone that had issues with using Larsen. I am planning on using them to build a double dormer but am weary since I heard this feedback. I was wondering if anyone on this board had any experiences with using Larsen and if so, what were they?

I have used Larsen a few times. They came and took care of the windows in my house and I am using them for my central air when I put it in. They were great. I had Kevin as my sales person and he was great every step of the way. Always easy to get a hold of and responded quickly if I had to leave a message.

Great - thanks for the feedback!
Do you know of other people that have used them for more extensive construction besides for replacing windows and Central A/C?
It would actually help to hear some issues that people ran into so that I can try to avoid those same issues.

I used Larsen in 2009 for a double dormer. I have good and bad things to say about them. For the most part construction went well.
My biggest problem was with James our project manager. He was a complete a@@hole. He kept saying that our house was a construction site and disregarded the fact that it was our home. I felt pressured into making decisions because of their timing issues. Workers showed up to our house unannounced on the weekend surprising us while we were still in bed.
Larsen promises to come back in the first 2 years if there are problems. Beware because we had a lot of repainting to do after they fixed their problems. Also we h ave been going back and forth with Kosmo one of the owners to fix one last mistake. He says he will do it but hasn't done t yet.
Again overal things came out fine but i would not recommend them.

We used Larsen for our extension. While it wasn't without any troubles, they really dealt well with the issues. I would recommend them to a friend, I thought they did a good job. We didn't have the foreman James, who I have heard bad things about. Our salesperson was Kevin, and I can't remember who our foreman was.

OP Here-
Thanks all for the responses! Seems that my take from all this is that they are OK to use, but should expect some issues. But at least they are responsive and will fix anything within 2 years. Is that correct?
Also, avoid James and use Kevin.

I would be leery of using a company that you already know you should expect issues from.

Our issue was a flood that occured when we had a unexpected downpour that caused water to leak into the house because they had only just laid the foundation for the extension, so it wasn't really their fault.
