I am so sorry - I'm not sure this is accurate anymore - I thought my sister got a call from the district but it was second hand information. I saw someone else post on FB that the district is OPEN.

Their website is not working.
On Newsday it's listed as today (Monday) closed. Nothing for Tuesday yet.

GC Public School Information Update
Updated: Monday, November 5th - 5:10PM.
* Garden City Public Schools except for the Middle School and Hemlock School will be OPEN on Tuesday, November 6th on a normal schedule. Everyone traveling to school and to the various bus stops are asked to be very careful since many sidewalk areas have a damaged beacuse of the recent storm.
* Parent - Teacher conferences scheduled for Monday, November 5th & Tuesday, November 6th are cancelled.

I think the conflicting information that I got earlier arose from the fact that my nephew is in the middle school. Sorry for the confusion.
