I can't rec a place because DH got ours from his plumber friend who set them aside for us, but the price you posted is what the going rate is from a place according to DH.
We budgeted $3K for everything.

Thank you for your responses . Are you saying $3,000.00 for both the boiler and hot water heater? If so I am getting severely ripped off :(

Re: Boiler and hot water heater
We paid 3375 to have our gas furnace replaced. Had we replaced the water heater it would have roughly been an additional 1000. I am in NJ and my neighbor does them, so he said he gave me a discount. I had another quote for quite a bit more, 4200.

Re: Boiler and hot water heater
We get it lower because DH and his friends barter the work amongst themselves, since they are all contractors.
I was saying that what you are being quoted is very normal, if not more, like the above poster stated as well.
DH just said our neighbor is paying even closer to $4K to have a company do it. And yes, I was referring to both appliances.
FWIW, FEMA gave us just under $7K to replace our boiler, hot water heater, washer and dryer. There is not supposed to be $$$$ "left over" so we will about break even with everything.

Re: Boiler and hot water heater
We used Burner King for our conversion earlier this year and were very happy with them
