How often do you sterilize bottles?
Aside from when you're using them for the first time, how often do you sterilize bottles?

i've only done it one other time and ds is 6 months  i dont know if it makes a difference, but i use glass bottles.

I sterilize all of the bottles I have used for the day every night before I go to bed.

How often do you sterilize bottles?
Only the first time. Once the hit air they aren't sterile anymore so why bother. As long as they are clean you are fine.

This is exactly what the ped told me.
Unless they are being sealed in a sterile airtight back the second after they come out of that boiling water, they are no longer sterile.
A good wash in hot soapy water is all you need.

exactly what my ped said...
dishwasher or hand wash is more than fine and all that is needed after it is done the first time out of the box

only the first time... ds bottles were glass, dd bottles now are stainless steel, I figure they're less likely to need it again.

I sterilize them every night in my Tommee tippee sterlizer it's easy in there! Wish I would have had one with my first dd.

i wash them in hot water with dish soap. i havent boiled a nipple since they were 3 months old

How often do you sterilize bottles?
For the first 2 to 3 months, I sterilized daily. Then it was every couple of days. Now its once a week...if that!
I do, however, have to swap out the ones my sitter/aunt uses bc I recently realized she does not clean them that well and they started to get moldy....eeew!

We used to sterilize them using the Dr. Brown's microwave sterilizer. As soon as it was full with 4 bottles, we did it. We asked our pediatrician at DD's 4-month check up and he said that there was no need to do it anymore, that it's just a precaution for the first couple of months. Now we just wash them with hot water and soap.
